Roast: Kenya is one of the few coffees that can take light through dark roasts. We thought it was great at city roast, but give it a try a little darker – you won’t be disappointed!

About: The Iriaini cooperative operates the Kemunyaka factory where 1200 producers in the Nyeri region produce and contribute coffee. This large factory is in the foothills of Mount Kenya takes cherry and hand-sorts the defects out before depulping. Afterward, the coffees are fermented through the night and then dried for two to three weeks. Cherry skins are redistributed back to producers to be turned into fertilizer.

When the coffee is milled for export, the green beans are sorted by screen size and graded according to size and shape. Larger beans (17/18 screen) are labeled AA, 15/16 screen are labeled AB, and the round peaberry are labeled PB.
