Jamaica Blue Mountain – Fair Trade – Green Unroasted

Taste:  Balanced, rich, heavy mouthfeel but surprisingly mild. Rare in supply, high in demand – no wonder this coffee consistently fetches such a dear price.

Roast: Like it’s Hawaiian counterpart, this coffee is best roasted to Medium (City Roast) – maybe just a tad beyond.  For the money you pay for this bean, you may not want to “cook” out the intense flavors with a darker roast.

Medium – The acids are more developed, complex and balanced in this roast and the sweetness is more pronounced. Caramel and lemon citrus combine with milk chocolate and underlying nut. There is good viscosity to the mouthfeel on a medium length finish.

Medium/Dark – Lemon and grapefruit citrus are primary flavors with following flavors of cedar, milk chocolate and brown spice. Finish is short and mouthfeel buttery.

Dark – Noticeably lower in acidity which is low in intensity. Dark chocolate, cocoa butter and roasted nut are primary flavors followed by cedar and brown spice.

About: The location of Blue Mountain, north of Kingston, has rich soil and perfect conditions for the Arabica coffee to thrive in. The misty cloud protects the mountainside from the scorching midday sun, with daily temperatures hitting 96 degrees.

The Small Farmers Coffee Limited Co-op  only works with smallholder farmers with the promise to get them the best price for their incredible product. They establish long term relationships with buyers and customers and give a level of transparency that is unique in the industry.
To ensure the farmers are supported, they partner with various organizations to educate farmers on environmental issues, wildlife preservation, growing techniques and even financial advice with access to funding. They aim to reduce all the farmers’ use of chemicals and move towards more organic cultivation.
Ultimately this all to ensure the cooperative has sustainable businesses and reap the benefits of this rare and exclusive product.

Jamaican Fair Trade was established November 2018. The purpose of Jamaican Fair Trade is to work with small Jamaican farms to get 100% Blue Mountain Coffee to the Midwest. We work with small farmers that get certified though the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority. The Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority also known as the CIB (Coffee Industry Board) has very strict quality control measures to insure that the coffee is to the standard of the Jamaican Blue Mountain standard. Blue mountain coffee is one of the worlds most sought after coffees because the mild flavor and lack of bitterness. The goal of Jamaican Fair Trade is to work with small farmers in Jamaica to help build their economy while bringing one of the world’s best coffee to the Midwest. Jamaican Fair Trade will be supplying small coffee shops, roasters, and the local consumer with 100% Blue Mountain Coffee.

All shipments of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee have to pass inspection by the Coffee Industry Board(CIB) to insure they meet quality standards. So you will always know that you will receive the freshest and best quality coffee in the world!
